Volunteers Needed for Summer & Fall Regional Fitness Competitions in Middle Tennessee

MURFREESBORO & NASHVILLE, TN (July 10, 2025) — Special Olympics Tennessee is gearing up for two major fitness events this summer and fall—and they’re calling on community volunteers to make it all possible.

2025 Middle TN Regional Fitness Games

July 19, 12:00–4:00 pm • Location: D1 Training, Cool Springs

Athletes from around Middle Tennessee will take over D1 Training’s premier facility in Cool Springs for an afternoon of physical performance challenges and friendly competition. Participants can expect swag bags courtesy of Nashville Fit Mag, energy fuel from Defiance Fuel, and support from sponsors like Black Rifle Coffee. These corporate partners help keep the event spirited and athlete‑focused—but volunteers are the backbone of execution.

Volunteer roles include:

  • Event setup & breakdown

  • Athlete station assistance

  • Scorekeeping and timekeeping

  • Swag-bag distribution

  • Sponsor coordination

2025 State Fall Fitness Games

October 18, 8:00 am–5:00 pm • Location: Richard Siegel Soccer Complex, Murfreesboro

This annual state-level competition features flag football, cornhole, fitness events, healthy-athlete screenings, Young Athletes programming, awards, merchandise sales—and a chance for future national/state partnerships and broadcast training. As of October 2024, these Fall Games welcomed over 900 athletes and unified partners, with “volunteers still needed for both days” to staff timekeeping, scorekeeping, down‑marker, health screening, awards, merchandise and more.

A planning session to prepare volunteer protocol and logistics is scheduled for August. Additionally, partners offering Dexa body-screening services are welcome to register, especially within the Healthy Athletes zone.

Why It Matters

Volunteers bring these events to life. From guiding athletes through fitness stations to cheering them across the finish line, each role enriches the Special Olympics experience. Community involvement – whether volunteering, sponsoring, or broadcasting – is essential to the success and growth of inclusive sports in Tennessee.
