Pro Wrestling Symphony arrives in Nashville this summer with a simple mission — give Music
City a quality, inclusive and homegrown professional wrestling experience.
The promotion was founded by Connor Casey, Rory Miller and Pat Dooley, all of whom worked
in Tennessee’s independent pro wrestling scene for a few years after spending the previous
decade in the journalism, live music and live entertainment industries, respectively. What
surprised them the most was that, for as passionate as wrestling fans were in the area,
Nashville didn’t have a promotion it could call its own.
“There are plenty of promotions in Middle Tennessee, but most of them don’t run shows near
the Downtown Nashville area.” Dooley said. “And the ones that do tend to be from other states,
so they’re only here sparingly. We decided that, if nobody else was doing it, why not us?”
Together the three spent the bulk of 2024 laying the groundwork for Pro Wrestling Symphony,
which launches with its debut event at Brooklyn Bowl on Sunday, June 1st. PWS will run live
shows on the first Sunday of each month at the Germantown venue.
“Our ultimate goal is to become a pillar of Nashville’s live entertainment scene,” Casey said.
“Having a home venue like Brooklyn Bowl is a fantastic start, but for our plan to work we have to
dig deeper.”
The plan includes hosting non-wrestling events like Pro Wrestling Trivia Nights at East Nashville
Beer Works’ locations, bringing wrestlers to events like this year’s Nashville Comicon and
getting local businesses like QNTM Fit Life and the David’s Den nonprofit involved.
As for the shows themselves, they’ll feature top talent from the area mixed in with major names
from the independent wrestling scene — the first show alone will feature stars who have
appeared on WWE, AEW, Ring of Honor, TNA, NWA and GCW programming. The group also
wants to put special focus on the Women’s and Tag Team Wrestling, both of which have deep
talent pools but aren’t always offered opportunities on independent wrestling shows.
Along with the in-ring action, each event will feature a live musical guest to play before and after
each show. The Illinois-based psychedelic funk duo The Ex-Bombers are set to perform at the
June 1st show.
“The idea is to give each show a ‘Saturday Night Live’ type of feel with a rotating musical guest,”
Miller said. “Between the Nashville wrestling fan community and the wave of tourists that come
through each weekend, we hope to bring in some of the best artists from the area to play in front
of a raucous crowd each month.”
The lineup for the June 1st show is as follows:
– Colby Carter vs. Donovan Dijak
– IWTV Independent Wrestling Tag Team Championships: Fresh Air (c) vs. Royal Prestige
(TeVon Jordyn & Majestic)
– Freya The Slaya vs. Brooke Havok
– Jeremiah Plunkett vs. BEEF
– Dillon McQueen vs. Alejandro vs. Adrian Thomas vs. Jake Painter vs. Tyler Shoop
– Kaia McKenna & J-Rod vs. Shazza McKenzie & Arie Alexander.
– Musical Guest: The Ex-Bombers
Doors open for the June 1st at Noon and bell time is slotted for 2 p.m.
