Nashville Gears Up for High-Profile MMA Showdowns This Summer

Nashville is set to become a hotspot for mixed martial arts (MMA) enthusiasts this summer, with two major events scheduled to take place in the city. The Professional Fighters League (PFL) and the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) are bringing high-stakes bouts to Nashville, promising thrilling action for fans and a boost to the local sports scene.

PFL 5: Semifinal Showdowns at the Municipal Auditorium

On June 12, 2025, the PFL will host its fifth event of the season at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium. This event marks the semifinals of the PFL’s single-elimination tournament format in the Welterweight and Featherweight divisions. It’s the league’s second visit to Nashville, following a successful event in August 2024. The semifinals are crucial, as fighters vie for a spot in the finals and a chance at the championship title.

UFC on ESPN: Lewis vs. Teixeira at Bridgestone Arena

A month later, on July 12, 2025, the UFC returns to Nashville for the first time since August 2023. The event, titled “UFC on ESPN: Lewis vs. Teixeira,” will take place at the Bridgestone Arena. The headline bout features former UFC Heavyweight Championship challenger Derrick Lewis facing off against the undefeated prospect Tallison Teixeira. This matchup is highly anticipated, as both fighters bring impressive records and fan followings to the octagon.

Nashville’s Growing MMA Scene

The back-to-back scheduling of these prominent MMA events underscores Nashville’s rising status as a key destination for combat sports. The city’s ability to attract such high-caliber events reflects its growing infrastructure and enthusiastic fan base. Local gyms and fitness centers are also experiencing increased interest, as residents are inspired by the professional bouts to engage in MMA training and fitness programs.

Tickets and Viewing Information

Tickets for both events are expected to sell quickly, given the high-profile nature of the fights and the popularity of the promotions. Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets early to secure their spots. For those unable to attend in person, both events will be broadcast live, with the PFL event available through its usual streaming partners and the UFC event airing on ESPN.

As Nashville prepares to host these thrilling MMA events, the city solidifies its reputation as a burgeoning hub for sports and fitness, offering residents and visitors alike the opportunity to witness top-tier athletic competition.
