NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Nashville Black Wellness Collective is continuing to redefine what community wellness looks like in Music City.
On a recent episode of the NFM Podcast, hosts Collin Schoen and Abby Miranda sat down with Dr. Kimberly Walker, co-founder of Nashville Black Wellness Collective, to discuss how the organization has grown from a small hiking group into a powerful movement centered around health, movement, mindfulness and culture.
Dr. Walker, who co-founded the collective alongside her husband Claude, shared how their own personal health journeys inspired them to create space for Nashville’s Black community to feel seen, supported and empowered in wellness spaces.
What began in 2018 as a small group hike has since grown into an award-winning wellness community focused on accessibility, representation and accountability. Through initiatives like the “Outside & Active” series, the collective offers events including Hike Day, Sunset Yoga and 2 Mile Tuesday, helping more people connect with movement in approachable and meaningful ways.
The conversation also highlighted the importance of culturally relevant health initiatives and the impact of the annual Nashville Black Wellness Rally, which brings the community together for education, connection and celebration.
