Homemade protein bars

Delicious protein bars recipe

Protein is an essential macronutrient that plays a vital role in maintaining good health and wellness. It is a building block for many of the body’s tissues, including muscles, bones, skin, and hair, and helps to repair and replace damaged cells.

Protein also helps to regulate hormones, enzymes, and other critical bodily functions. In addition, it provides the body with energy and helps to maintain a feeling of fullness, making it an essential component for weight management. Adequate protein intake is necessary for everyone, regardless of age, gender, or activity level, and can be obtained through various food sources, including meats, poultry, fish, dairy, beans, lentils, and tofu.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup protein powder (whey or plant-based)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the oats, peanut butter, honey, protein powder, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix until well combined.
  2. If desired, add chocolate chips and chopped nuts to the mixture and mix again.
  3. Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper and transfer the mixture to the plate. Spread evenly using a spatula.
  4. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until firm.
  5. Cut the mixture into bars of the desired size and serve.
  6. Store the bars in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Eat and enjoy!
