Fit Friday Feature: Meet Nashville’s Best NEW Personal Trainer Lind

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — By the time Lindsey Platt Hubbard steps onto the reformer at BODYROK, she already knows two things for certain: movement has shaped her entire life, and helping others feel confident in their bodies is exactly where she’s meant to be.

Hubbard, a Memphis native who has now called Nashville home for 15 years, is one of the newest instructors at BODYROK in Nashville, but her path into the fitness industry has been years in the making, rooted in athletics, education, injury recovery, and an unshakable passion for understanding how the body works.

She has quickly made a name for herself in the Middle Tennessee fitness community, earning recognition not just from her clients but from lovers of fitness as a whole. Hubbard was recently named Nashville Fit Magazine’s Best New Personal Trainer, a title she proudly holds alongside other accolades in the publication’s annual Best of Awards.

Alongside Hubbard, other members at BODYROK as well as the studio itself received multiple awards in this issue of Nashville Fit Magazine.

Hubbard named Best New Personal Trainer in Nashville Fit Magazine Jan/Feb 2026 Issue.

But where did it all start for her?

Hubbard grew up very active due to her being involved in dance, cheerleading and just about every sport you can think of. However, becoming a trainer was never something she ever imagined she would become. “I’d always been active but never comfortable in the gym,” she admitted.

She began her fitness journey working with a personal trainer, which sparked a deep passion for health and wellness and a desire to understand the reason behind movement.

Over time, she grew interest and passion not just for the gym but the reasoning behind the movements.

“I was just really trying to understand the workout,” Hubbard said. “Why does this move make you better here? Why does this make you healthier or stronger?” she added. “I was finding the science behind it all.”

But it took one friend to help her realize her full potential in a gym setting was more than just science.

Discovering Her Calling

As her knowledge grew, Hubbard began training friends informally, including one close friend who would later stand beside her as a bridesmaid.

“When I was in college, one of my friends was like, ‘Hey, I’m wanting to work out!”

That moment became a turning point and allowed her to realize she can help her friend, while simultaneously testing her ability as a personal trainer.

“I trained her 5 days a week. We just went to the gym and we’d work out.”

What stood out wasn’t just the physical transformation, it was the confidence shift.

“I loved being able to help someone in that way and make them feel more confident and comfortable,” Hubbard said. “Because girls in general don’t grow up knowing like, ‘Oh, I need to work out, and this is the weight I need to use, and these are the exercises I need to do,’” Platt added.

That impact stayed with her.

Hubbard shared that her friend still credits that time they spent training together in the gym as a pivotal period that helped shape her confidence, happiness, and sense of self.

“She texts me constantly and says ‘I would never be in the gym if it wasn’t for you. You genuinely changed my life.’”

However, Hubbard doesn’t want to take all the credit and hopes to show her friends and clients, you are the one that did all the hard work, she just inspired it.

Injury, Recovery, and the Discovery of Pilates

For Hubbard, years of competitive cheerleading and dance eventually took a toll on her body.

“I have like really bad back issues,” Hubbard said. “I have multiple slipped discs and pinched nerves.”

As recovery became more challenging, a friend suggested Pilates at what is now her favorite place in Nashville — BODYROK.

Her friend suggested pilates might be the best thing for her and her reoccuring back injuries due to it being low impact but still high intensity. Plus, let’s not forget about how visually aesthetic it is too!

By the first class she became hooked.  “I was like ‘I actually absolutely love this,’” she said. “My body loved it.”

What surprised her most was how personal the group classes felt.

Hubbard explained that the BodyRock classes felt far from a typical group workout, offering a personalized experience where participants received individual attention from the instructor while being guided safely through each movement.

Soon, Pilates replaced most of her traditional gym routines and she is very happy to be spending the majority of her time at 3 different BODYROK locations around Nashville.
Her calling led her to finally see if she could lead a BODYROK class on her own.

Auditioning, Training, and Finding Her Place

When BODYROK opened instructor auditions, Hubbard knew she had to try, even as she was planning her wedding at the same time.

“I said ‘Okay, this is my year,’” she said.

She revealed that she had scored the highest in the audition process, which gave her a sense of validation and made her feel that becoming a BodyRock instructor was truly the path she was meant to follow.

As of May 2025, she officially became a BODYROK instructor while also balancing her other jobs — bartending downtown and working in real estate.

“But this has been my favorite job of them all,” she expressed.

Creating Confidence, One Class at a Time

For Hubbard, teaching isn’t about perfection, it’s about education and empowerment.

“My biggest joy is when clients are leaving class, they’re like, ‘That felt really good, you actually taught me so much about myself that I never knew,’” she said.

Moments like that continue to give her the focus and motivation she needs and understands the privilege it takes to help change women’s lives.

She encourages questions, feedback, and one-on-one support after class and says more often than not, many women take her up on that offer.

“I’ll take a couple minutes and sit with them and show them what [movement] should look like and how it should feel.”

And much like any instructors in Music City, curating the perfect playlist is a huge priority.

“I want to distract you from what your body’s doing,” she said. “So, I’m going to make sure the music is good.”

Her playlists are EDM-heavy, with creative remixes but says, don’t be surpised to hear every genre on her shuffle. From Tate McRae, to Lil Wayne, to Rüfüs Du Sol, you will hear just about anything during one of her classes, but it is all intentional.

“I want girls to just feel confident and sexy in themselves as they’re doing these really hard exercises,” she said.

Finding Wellness in Nashville

Behind the scenes, Hubbard credits her husband, Mason, for being her biggest supporter.

The newlyweds often have very busy schedules, but one thing is certain — he will be cheering her on every step of the way.

“He’s genuinely always been the most supportive man,” she said. “He’s one of the girls, but he’s my man at the same time.”

From audition prep to unpaid community classes, he never missed a moment and has been her number one fan since day one of her training journey. “He’ll be the only guy in the BodyRock room and he does not care,” she laughed.

Despite a packed schedule, Hubbard ensures she is moving around and taking advantage of times where she can keep active.

“I just prioritize movement every day in some way,” she said. “I teach, I take.”

And as for her nutrition, she doesn’t hold back from the occasional chips and queso, but you can always ensure her breakfast is a strong start to her days.

“Eggs and chicken sausage every single morning without a fail,” she said. “We are big protein people.”
