As summer’s warmth draws to a close, we are welcomed by the hues of autumn. The arrival of this fresh season of falling leaves and cooler temperatures bring not just a new season, but the start of a refreshed routine. This annual transition coincides with the start of the new school year, bringing a return to daily routines that may have been on hold during the relaxed days of summer. 

With the new school year in full swing, routines are reestablished, and the daily grind resumes. This change brings more than just the return to familiarity, it also presents new opportunities to reevaluate your fitness routine. While some may struggle with the shift back to a structured routine, others will find that fall offers a fresh perspective and renewed motivation for their fitness goals.

Alex Hicks is a professional and father of two children who prioritizes his health by sticking to his fitness routine in any free time that he can find. Instead of showing up the same time every day he finds time whenever he can squeeze in a lift at Carbon Performance, where he attends. 

“I always tell new dads. Give yourself grace and make sure not to over do it, but try to keep it a habit.” 

With routine settling back there are many tips and tricks to help ease into this new season. According to WebMD there is still a difference made even if you can only squeeze in a workout during a short period of time during the weekend. Even if the weekends are the only times for you, there are still brian and mental health benefits.

Participating in sports like soccer, football, or cross-country running not only supports children’s health and development but also encourages

Whether you’re cheering from the sidelines, volunteering as a coach, or joining in on practice sessions, the start of the school year offers ample opportunities for families to bond and stay active together. By integrating sports into your routine you can foster a positive environment for physical fitness and create lasting memories, while promoting a healthy lifestyle for both kids and adults.There may be involvement opportunities as parents, friends or family of children to volunteer during sports season which also allows for bodily movement. 

The importance of keeping up with your fitness routine stems from setting an example for his family. As a father Alex explains that his fitness goals changed from short term goals to long term goals. 

“ I’m going to keep it a priority so I can just be a better father for longer so when my kids have kids I can still be around and pick them up, and play with them.” By setting this example, Alex hopes his kids will prioritize their own health when they are older as well.
