Franklin, TN – On May 10, 2025, cyclists from all walks of life will gather for Erase the Trace, the Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation’s signature charity cycling event. More than just a ride, this event fuels groundbreaking glioblastoma research, pushing the boundaries of treatment for one of the most aggressive forms of brain cancer.
Why “Erase the Trace”?
Glioblastoma is a relentless disease. Even after surgical removal, traces of cancer cells often remain, increasing the risk of recurrence. The event’s name serves as a powerful dual message—the urgent need to eliminate these lingering cells and the historic Natchez Trace Parkway, the stunning backdrop for this inspiring ride.
The Legacy of Scott Williams
Founded in 2021 by Scott Williams, a glioblastoma patient and advocate, Erase the Trace was born from resilience and determination. Diagnosed on September 11, 2019, Scott refused to let cancer define him. Instead, he took action, embarking on a 444-mile cycling journey along the Natchez Trace Parkway to raise awareness and funding. His first ride raised over $30,000—a testament to his strength and the power of a united community.
Ride for Research, Ride for Hope
Cyclists of all levels are invited to participate in three different ride options:
- 62-mile ride
- 30-mile ride
- 10-mile ride
More than just a physical challenge, every rider becomes a fundraiser, directly contributing to critical brain cancer research. By participating, you’ll support advancements in treatment and bring hope to those battling glioblastoma.

Expect a scenic, inspiring journey down the Natchez Trace Parkway, riding alongside fellow advocates, survivors, and supporters. Every pedal stroke brings us closer to progress, remembrance, and a cure.
