Last year’s inaugural Sakura Cup was a groundbreaking event, attracting 60 competitors from across the U.S. and Canada, along with an international announcer who traveled all the way from Switzerland to call the action. About Tennessee Sumo Association
The Tennessee Sumo Association was founded in 2022 after hosting a sumo demonstration at Antioch High School. Since then, the organization has grown into a competitive team, participating in regional and national tournaments while also organizing demonstrations and competitions. As a nonprofit dedicated to promoting Japanese culture through sumo, TN Sumo offers year-round training and welcomes participants of all ages, genders, and body types.
