Annual event on Sept. 28 to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
WHAT: As part of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, thousands of Nashville, TN residents will participate in St. Jude Walk/Run Nashville to raise funds and awareness for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. This year St. Jude Walk/Run events will take place in more than 60 communities nationwide to support the lifesaving mission of St. Jude: Finding cures. Saving children.
The event will feature a St. Jude patient family speaker, activities for all ages and live entertainment. Registration for adults and children ages 6 and older is $20 for the timed 5K and $10 for the walk. To sign up, volunteer or donate, visit stjude.org/walknashville.

WHY: Funds raised through events like St. Jude Walk/Run Nashville help ensure families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live. Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to more than 80 percent since it opened more than 50 years ago. But that means that one in five of those children will not survive. Together with the support of participants, donors, volunteers and more, St. Jude will not stop until no child dies from cancer.
