June 5, 2019 | NASHVILLE, TN – Small World Yoga (SWY), a nonprofit organization with the mission of connecting people and creating community through yoga, is hosting Nashville’s fifth annual International Day of Yoga Celebration on Friday, June 21, from 5:30–9 p.m. at Cumberland Park.
This free, annual event brings together hundreds of yogis for an evening of community, music, food and a celebration of the yoga community here in Nashville and around the world. SWY instructors LiHua Sung, Kim Cannon, Jimmy Burke and Leah Friend will lead the yoga practice from 6–7 p.m. The event’s master of ceremonies will be Chris Byford, who was named Nashville’s best yoga instructor by Nashville Fit Magazine in 2017. Participants will enjoy food from some of Nashville’s favorite food trucks and musical performances by Dirty Proper and DJ AyDamn. This is a free, communitywide event with a suggested $10 donation in support of SWY. The organization also accepts gently used yoga mats and blocks for use in outreach locations.
