Oct 1, 2019 | East Nashville, TN – On Saturday, October 5 from noon to 6:00 p.m., Orbital Outdoors will host the grand opening of its brick and mortar store at the Shoppes on Fatherland in Five Points. The store will feature upcycled outdoor-centric clothing and gear, ranging from National Parks memorabilia to vintage Patagonia, the North Face and other outdoor brands. The owners, Mark and Kelsey, want to inspire Nashvillians to get outside, and look good doing it.
ABOUT THE OWNERS
Kelsey Silverstein and Mark Donoher live in East Nashville with their three dogs Maddie, Ollie and Rocky. Their journey together began when they met in Savannah, Georgia six years ago. Mark and Kelsey took a year-long road trip to climb and mountain bike their way across the U.S.
Their cross-country trek started in a Subaru with a homemade trailer attached, and they eventually upgraded to a van. To sustain their trip financially, they scoured the nation’s thrift stores along the way and sold the best pieces of clothing they found on Ebay. Mark and Kelsey eventually ended up in Nashville and got married. Mark also founded and runs Orbital Climbing, LLC, a company that specializes in homemade skincare remedies for climbers, aptly named Boulder Balm. They are passionate about environmental conservation and are motivated to inspire others to take steps to mitigate their environmental impact. Boulder Balm is handmade with sustainable materials by Mark, and Kelsey procures all items sold at Orbital Outdoors.
