| Ultimate Nutrition Guide | From Hospital Dietitian to Wellness Entrepreneur : E+ROSE Wellness
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — As more people prioritize what they eat and how they take care of their bodies, wellness has become much more than a trend, it’s a lifestyle. Here in Middle Tennessee, one brand helping lead that movement is E+ROSE Wellness Company. What started as one dietitian’s vision to make healthy eating more accessible has grown into a beloved destination for nourishing meals, smoothies, coffee, and community. We chatted with founder Robbie Nowinski to talk about the inspiration behind E+ROSE, his passion for preventative health, and how the company continues to redefine wellness while staying true to its mission of serving real food. As part of our Ultimate Nutrition Guide, we sat down with Robbie at one of E+ROSE’s Middle Tennessee locations to learn how his vision for making healthy living more accessible grew into one of the region’s most recognizable wellness brands.

How did E+ROSE Wellness come about? Origin story?
I worked as a Dietitian consultant for hospitals throughout Southern California and then throughout New York and Connecticut. Being in the hospital each day, you begin to see the reality of why most people are coming in. Fortunately, and unfortunately, once you set aside childbirth, the number one reason someone is in the hospital is diet related. The fortunate part is that you can change your diet.

After years of being in hospitals, I really wanted to do something to help prevent people from coming in in the first place. I wasn’t quite sure what this would look like – I just knew I wanted to do something. One day while sitting in a coffee shop in New York City, I was reading Howard Schultz’ memoir and I started to wonder why there was not something like Starbucks – an amazing brand, on every corner, people enamored with it – that was healthy. This is when the idea first began to formulate, and several years, and a lot of blood, sweat and tears later, it would ultimately turn into what you see today.
Why is wellness important to you? Any personal experiences?
I believe it to be the foundation for a happy life and a better world. Healthier people are happier, because they feel better, and it is a positive feedback loop that resonates throughout their surroundings and all they interact with. I am not sure, outside of faith, if there is anything more important.
Favorite menu item and why?

It switches often, and I really love everything on our menu. I eat at E+ROSE every single day – and so does my family. I am currently enamored with our Ginger Greens smoothie and I add collagen and creatine to it for an added boost. It is hydrating, full of micronutrients that are hard to come by, has added protein, contains all the essential amino acids, and ginger – which is amazing for your gut. All around it is just a wonderful smoothie to add to your day.
What does it mean to you to have created a popular wellness and nutritious spot in Middle Tennessee?
Our goal is to be the premier wellness brand globally. It means everything that people believe in what we are doing. Middle Tennessee is home for me and my young family, and we are so grateful to have such a strong and supportive community behind us and providing us with the grounds to push our brand further and further.
Outside of E+ROSE Wellness, what are some of your favorite ways to recharge and practice self-care?
Spending time with my wife and kids is my favorite way to re-charge. It may seem a bit counterintuitive, as having 4 children 5 years old and younger is fairly daunting, but they bring me so much joy and energy. We love to be in nature, on hikes and at the lake together, and lately just strolling through Radnor is our favorite thing to do. Having children is my single greatest joy – and if you are blessed enough to be able to, it is my most recommended thing there is for everything, including self-care. I will say the sauna has also been great for me – I have found the benefits to be incredible for my sleep and stress. 20 minutes at 200 degrees does wonders!

Wellness trends seem to change constantly. How do you stay true to your mission while continuing to innovate?
Our mission is to inspire wellness and we are built upon a foundation which I believe to be outside of any trend – and that is serving real food. We are hyper-vigilant about what we put into our products and always come back to that basic foundation of being real. It is why we list every ingredient. It is why the fruit in our smoothies and bowls is always just fruit. It is why our almond milk is just almonds and water. It is why the coffee beans we serve are mold and mycotoxin tested. It is why we don’t use seed oils or artificial anything. We have this motto of “it is harder for us, but better for you” and we thrive off of doing what we believe to be the best for our guests in all we do. We are selfish in that we get an immense amount of joy out of serving our customers and seeing their happy reactions to our beautiful and great for you products. In that sense, it is the easiest thing in the world to do.
