More Than Wellness: How Nashville Fit, Body Well and B2 Wellness Suites Are Building an Ecosystem for a Healthier Community

More Than Wellness: How Nashville Fit, Body Well and B2 Wellness Suites Are Building an Ecosystem for a Healthier Community
For Terry Barga and Vanessa Hampton, the future of wellness in Middle Tennessee isn’t about building one bigger company.

It’s about building a better-connected community. Over the past several years, Nashville Fit, Body Well, and B2 Wellness Suites have grown in different directions, serving different needs and developing their own areas of expertise. But increasingly, those businesses are becoming part of a larger vision: an interconnected wellness ecosystem designed to create great content, help businesses grow, connect people, create opportunities, and reinvest a portion of that success back into the communities that need it most. At the center of the model is a simple idea: A healthier city requires healthy people, healthy businesses, and healthy communities.

That means wellness cannot stop at workouts, nutrition tips, or the walls of a gym. It has to include entrepreneurship, access, education, employment, connection, and service.
And Barga and Hampton believe they are only getting started.

Nashville Fit: The Media Engine

Nashville Fit has evolved far beyond its beginnings as a local fitness magazine.
Today, the brand is becoming a multi-platform media company built around fitness, health, wellness, lifestyle, entrepreneurship, and community.

Print remains an important part of the platform, but it now works alongside digital publishing, podcasts, social media, YouTube, live broadcasting, events, video production, and other forms of original content.
For the consumer, that creates a place to discover the people, businesses, stories, and ideas shaping a healthier Middle Tennessee.

For advertisers, it creates something equally important: multiple ways to reach an engaged audience.
Instead of simply purchasing an advertisement and hoping people notice it, businesses can become part of the content ecosystem through storytelling, podcasts, video, events, social media, digital advertising, sponsorships, print, and custom media campaigns.

The Nashville Fit team is also increasingly working directly with businesses on marketing strategy, business development, content creation, and coaching. The goal isn’t simply to sell advertising. It is to help good businesses become better businesses — and then give them the media infrastructure to tell their story. That combination of content, audience, strategy, and distribution is becoming one of Nashville Fit’s greatest strengths.

Body Well: Taking Wellness Wherever People Are

If Nashville Fit is the media engine of the ecosystem, Body Well brings wellness directly to people.
Body Well focuses on wellness staffing and activations for companies, conferences, events, and organizations that want to incorporate health and wellness into their experiences.
That can include chair and recovery massage, fitness professionals, group exercise, wellness activations, team-building experiences, and other staffed wellness services.
Instead of requiring people to go somewhere to experience wellness, Body Well brings wellness to them.
That creates an important bridge between the content Nashville Fit produces and real-world experiences.

A company may learn about a wellness trend through Nashville Fit, work with the team to create an event around it, use Body Well to staff the activation, and then use Nashville Fit’s media platforms to document and amplify the experience.
For businesses, that creates a powerful combination of experience and exposure.
For consumers, it means the wellness concepts they hear about aren’t simply content on a screen. They can become experiences they actually participate in. And for the larger community, it gives organizations another way to make wellness accessible in workplaces, events, and gathering spaces where people already are.

B2 Wellness Suites: A Home for the People Doing the Work

Every ecosystem needs a physical home.
That’s where B2 Wellness Suites comes in. B2 was built around the idea that wellness professionals and entrepreneurs need more than four walls and an office.
They need community.
B2 provides professional workspace, private offices, shared work areas, meeting space, and an environment specifically designed for people building businesses in and around the wellness industry.
But the greater opportunity lies in what happens when those people are connected to everything else.

A wellness entrepreneur working from B2 isn’t simply renting an office. They can be surrounded by other professionals, connected with potential collaborators, introduced to media opportunities through Nashville Fit, participate in events, and potentially tap into business coaching, marketing, and content services as they grow.

B2 can also serve as a gathering place where relationships are built. Through networking, education, and community initiatives, the spaces are designed to become hubs for wellness entrepreneurship rather than simply another collection of offices. That matters because a healthier Middle Tennessee also requires a stronger wellness economy.

When trainers, therapists, coaches, practitioners, and wellness entrepreneurs build sustainable businesses, they can employ more people, serve more clients, and ultimately have a greater impact on their communities.

Three Businesses. One Flywheel.

This is where the larger vision begins to make sense.
Nashville Fit creates the audience and media.
Body Well creates the experiences and wellness services.

B2 Wellness Suites creates the space and professional community.
Each business can stand on its own, but together they create opportunities that would be difficult for any one of them to create alone. A business can enter the ecosystem looking for office space and discover marketing support.

Another might begin as a Nashville Fit advertiser and eventually need wellness staffing for a corporate event.
A wellness professional could participate in a networking event, build relationships through B2, appear on a podcast, contribute expertise to Nashville Fit content, and eventually participate in a Body Well activation. Content creates awareness.
Awareness creates relationships.
Relationships create opportunities.

Opportunities create stronger businesses. And stronger businesses create the resources to make a greater impact. That last piece may ultimately be the most important.

The Giveback Model: Growth With a Purpose

Barga and Hampton don’t want community service to become something the companies do only when it is convenient.
They want it built into the model.
A portion of the profits generated by the ecosystem is intended to support initiatives that make Middle Tennessee healthier — particularly for people who may not have easy access to traditional health and wellness resources.
Because if the mission is truly to build a healthier community, the work cannot begin only with people who can afford memberships, wellness services, or premium healthcare.
It has to include people living on the margins.

That philosophy can already be seen in initiatives such as Rise Up, which brings together organizations, businesses, volunteers,, and community resources to serve Middle Tennessee’s unhoused and disenfranchised populations.
Rise Up is designed around dignity and access — connecting people with necessities and resources while creating a bridge between the wellness community and neighbors who are too often overlooked.

The ecosystem’s community work also includes Self-Care Saturdays, free wellness-focused events designed to make movement, education, and healthier choices accessible to everyday families and communities.
These events help remove one of the biggest barriers in wellness: the idea that getting healthier requires money, expertise, or already being “fit.”
It doesn’t.
Sometimes it starts with access.
Sometimes it starts with education.

Sometimes it starts with someone simply showing up and letting another person know that their health matters too.
For Barga and Hampton, taking care of the disenfranchised isn’t separate from creating a healthier Middle Tennessee.
It is where creating a healthier Middle Tennessee begins.

Better for Consumers. Better for Businesses. Better for the City.

The strength of this ecosystem is that the different groups it serves don’t have to compete with one another. Consumers benefit from better local content, more wellness experiences, and stronger connections to community resources.

Advertisers gain access to something much broader than traditional advertising. They can tell their stories through print, digital, video, podcasts, and events, while tapping into content production, marketing strategy, and community partnerships.

Wellness professionals gain physical space, professional relationships, education, media exposure, and opportunities to grow sustainable businesses.
Companies gain access to wellness staffing, activations, and programming.
And Middle Tennessee benefits when a growing commercial platform intentionally redirects part of its resources, relationships, and reach toward community service.

It creates a cycle in which doing business and doing good don’t have to exist on opposite sides of the balance sheet.
They can strengthen each other.

Nashville Is the Beginning

Perhaps the most exciting part of the vision is that it isn’t intended to stop in Nashville.
The expansion into Chattanooga Fit represents an early step toward proving that the model can work in additional markets.
The goal is not simply to copy and paste Nashville Fit into another city.

It’s to build locally relevant media and community platforms that understand the people, businesses, and wellness culture of each market while connecting them to a larger network.
That opens possibilities for regional advertising, shared content, cross-market partnerships, events, broadcasting, and eventually wellness services and business resources that can operate across multiple cities.

Nashville becomes the proving ground. Chattanooga becomes another chapter. And from there, the possibilities become much larger.

Building the Infrastructure for Wellness

There are plenty of companies creating fitness content.
There are coworking spaces.
There are wellness staffing businesses.
There are marketing agencies, business coaches, magazines, podcasts, and charitable initiatives.
What Barga and Hampton are working to build is the connective tissue between them.

The vision behind Nashville Fit, Body Well, and B2 Wellness Suites is to create an ecosystem in which media supports businesses, businesses support professionals, professionals serve consumers, and the success generated throughout the system produces resources that can be reinvested in the community.
It is ambitious.
It is growing quickly.
And it represents a different way of thinking about what a wellness company can actually be.

Because the ultimate measurement of success isn’t simply how many magazines are distributed, offices are occupied, events are staffed, videos are watched, or advertising campaigns are sold.
It’s whether the community surrounding those businesses becomes stronger because they exist.

For Terry Barga and Vanessa Hampton, that’s the business they are building:
Great content. Stronger businesses. Meaningful connections. Healthier communities.
And Nashville is only the beginning.
