Foster Care & Adoption: Supporting Foster Families in Nashville | Brent & Anna Morgan | NFM Podcast

What does it really take to support foster families and children in foster care?

On this episode of the NFM Podcast, hosts Collin Schoen and Aaron Hines sit down with Brent and Anna Morgan, a Murfreesboro couple who have built their lives around foster care, adoption and supporting the foster care community.

Brent and Anna share their own family’s journey through fostering and adoption and what they learned about the challenges foster parents face. They also explain why foster parent burnout is such a major issue and how respite care can give foster families the support they need to keep saying yes to children in need.

Through Bridge Family Ministries, Brent and Anna now serve more than 75 foster families in the community. Their organization provides respite care, foster parent support groups, teen programs, family events, practical resources and opportunities that help foster families feel seen, supported and connected.

They also discuss the challenges foster parents experience that people outside the system may never see, why they created Bridge Family Ministries and how community support can make a lasting difference for children and families. Brent and Anna were also recognized through Redstone Federal Credit Union‘s Community Champions program, which provided funding to help Bridge Family Ministries keep expanding its impact.

With foster parenting receiving national attention through the new Miss USA, this conversation brings the topic closer to home and highlights what it actually takes to support foster children, foster parents and families in Nashville and Middle Tennessee.
