NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Wellness is no longer limited to the gym, spa, or healthy eating habits. A new Nashville business is encouraging residents to view nail care as another important piece of their self-care routine.

Bower Nails officially opened its doors June 16 in Wedgewood Houston, introducing a wellness-centered approach to manicures and pedicures that prioritizes nail health, relaxation, and sustainability.
Founded by neighborhood residents Andrea Fishkin and Amanda Soeder Gleaton, Bower was designed as a modern retreat where guests can step away from the demands of everyday life and focus on restoration.
“We wanted to build the kind of space we’d enjoy spending time in: calm, elevated, welcoming and thoughtful in every detail,” Gleaton said.
The nearly 1,700-square-foot salon features a minimalist design, warm textures, custom finishes, and calming sensory elements intended to promote relaxation from the moment guests arrive.
But beyond aesthetics, the founders say their mission centers on wellness. Bower offers manicure and pedicure services that emphasize nail health and ingredient-conscious products while incorporating restorative touches such as hot towel treatments, custom oils, and scrubs developed in partnership with local wellness company The Herbalist Collective.

The salon also prioritizes sustainability through carefully selected product lines and efforts to reduce waste whenever possible.
Fishkin believes nail care should be viewed similarly to other wellness practices.
“We hope guests begin thinking about nail care the same way they think about skincare or massage therapy — as part of their overall wellness routine,” she said.
In addition to its wellness-focused services, Bower aims to create a hospitality-driven experience with amenities including beverages, blankets, and personalized care designed to help guests slow down and recharge.
Located in Wedgewood Village, the growing mixed-use development in Wedgewood Houston, Bower reflects a larger trend in the health and wellness industry: transforming everyday beauty services into intentional self-care experiences that support both physical and mental well-being.
Bower Nails is located at 1214 Martin Street and is now accepting appointments. For more information, visit their website and Instagram.
