RunNash Is New Name for Nashville-based Running Event Production Company

February 2, 2019 | NASHVILLE, TN – The company responsible for unique running events, such as the Preds Fangtastic 5K and the Music City July 4th 5K/10K in the streets of downtown Nashville, has a new name — RunNash.

Formerly known as What Do You Run For®, RunNash produces fun events for all levels of runners and walkers that encourage healthy living, involve the whole family and support local charities. The 2019 calendar of races includes:

  • Zoo Run Run — January 26, 2019
  • Predators Fangtastic 5K — February 23, 2019
  • BNA 5K on the Runway — April 6, 2019
  • Music City July 4th 5K/10K Run/Walk — July 4, 2019
  • Nashville Half Marathon, Marathon and 5K — November 9, 2019
  • Music City Turkey Trot 5K — November 28, 2019

The new name better reflects RunNash’s position as Nashville’s largest locally owned race organization and more clearly defines the company’s mission to Nashville’s growing and diverse population, according to Emmit Martin, President of RunNash.

“We manage local races, promote local businesses and support local charities,” he said. “Our distinctive all-local staff, history in the city and unique race routes give us the ability to produce one-of-a kind experiences for everyone attending our events in Music City.

“Plus, we’ll continue to be Music City’s number-one source for locally produced running events by providing our community with information on local running routes, race preparation, proper nutrition, injury prevention, equipment and more,” Martin added.

RunNash will add popular requested options to its events, such as allowing runners with jogging strollers and dogs. It also plans to add breastfeeding stations and pet-friendly areas at race sites.

Since 2005, RunNash has partnered with several prominent organizations to manage events and raise money and awareness, including the Nashville Rescue Mission, Leukemia Society of TN, United Way of Middle TN, Gilda’s Club, The Salvation Army, Nashville Zoo, K9s for Warriors, YMCA and many more.
