Neighborhood Barre is truly a local exercise studio with a neighborhood feel. The studio creates a positive, nurturing environment that makes all levels of fitness feel right at home. The atmosphere is laid back, classes are taken at your own pace, and the instructors are “real” people who know you. So, what’s a NB class like? It’s about discovering and using muscles that aren’t typically worked during exercise (think hips, hamstrings, inner thighs, outer seat), with a constant focus on core. Exercises are low-impact and modifiable, and adjustments are given to increase or reduce your intensity. CycleBar is turning up the volume on indoor cycling by providing an intoxicating, multisensory experience for its riders in a variety of class offerings. Owner, Amanda Foland, has over ten years of experience in the fitness industry. Foland has Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science, Certified Personal Trainer certificate with ACSM, and Sports Nutrition Specialist certificate with ISSA. Fit Studio focuses on the details and creativity during the personal training session. The trainers believe in a balanced lifestyle, one that includes family, faith, fitness, fellowship, and personal growth. Spiral Spine Pilates

Spiral Spine Pilates is a boutique, full-service Pilates studio offering small group and private lessons. Owned and led by Pilates guru Erin Myers, Spiral Spine Pilates hosts classes six days a week taught by experienced, certified instructors. The 1,500 square foot studio boasts separate workout areas for private and group lessons utilizing state-of-the-art Pilates equipment, along with offering Pilates teacher training and specialized movement on GYROTONIC® equipment. “The beauty of Pilates is that it offers so many benefits for so many different types of people,” says Myers. “Whether you’re a professional dancer, weekend warrior, recovering fitness junkie, exercise newbie, or are dealing with body injuries, you can achieve long, lean muscles, better body alignment and a strong core, without the harsh wear and tear on your body.” Spiral Spine’s staff also works with clients who have scoliosis and other specific back issues. The Southern Squeeze

The Southern Squeeze isn’t that gym—the one that promises you results that you never see, and a year later are wondering why you still haven’t lost weight or aren’t able to do a push-up. They aren’t a boot camp, a Zumba class, or a mindless exercise circuit that exists just to make you sweat. Serious fitness nerds, Maria and Gil founded The Squeeze after realizing that Nashville needed a gym for people that want expert guidance, solid programming, and maybe some laughs without the hefty price tag of personal training. They promise to meet you where you are and help safely lead you to where you want to be. So, how does trying out this place work? You can try an intro to strength class for free—twice—on their schedule as “first bite.” After that, you can choose from an unlimited membership option or a 2x/week option if that suits your budget and needs better. They won’t lock you in a contract because they want you to show up, learn, and smash your fitness and health goals one by one. They’re building a community in Woodbine, one person at a time. And, they’ve got a members-only SLACK channel you can join for accountability, goal setting, and staying in the loop.

Bachelorette Yoga
It’s no secret that Nashville has quickly become the top destination for bachelorette parties. After teaching a private yoga session to a party this spring, Rachel Beauregard came up with the concept for Bachelorette Yoga. Rachel or one of her certified yoga instructors will come directly to your Airbnb and teach a 60-minute vinyasa flow class for your party. They provide yoga mats, fun music catered to the bride-to-be, and each bachelorette receives a (hangover cure) essential oil blend of lavender and peppermint. They also offer a special Nashville package with live music from a local musician while you practice. Not a bachelorette party? No problem. Any group visiting town can have a fun and healthy activity that is convenient and great for all levels. Oh, and mimosas are encouraged too!
