Ashtanga yoga is different! Whether you’re new to yoga or an experienced practitioner, into pilates or strength training, interval training, or an endurance athlete, this style of yoga could be the perfect fit for you. By incorporating dynamic stretching and focusing on your breathing, Ashtanga offers a mindful movement system designed to improve balance, strength, flexibility, and mental awareness. Ashtanga mainly teaches in the “Mysore” style, which provides 1:1 instruction in a group setting. You will practice in a room with other people, but each person is doing their own practice and receives individual support from the teacher. You begin and end your practice when you choose — so, on any given day it can be 30 minutes or 2 hours — it’s up to you. Cory Bryant, the Director/Founder, was a competitive road runner for 30 years and his husband is a 2X Ironman triathlete who attributes Ashtanga to his enhanced performance and injury prevention. Because Ashtanga can be tailored to accommodate an active, athletic lifestyle, this method of yoga is ideal for the fitness minded. Ashtanga is located within the Woodland Presbyterian Church in East Nashville behind Five Points at 211 N. 11th St. Schedule, tuition and other info at ashtanganashville.com

Punches n’ Bunches Boxing Studio is the brainchild of Tramaine Crook, a former US national’s welterweight competitor. After retiring from an extensive career as a college athlete and active competitive fighter, Tramaine decided it was time for him to share the knowledge that he gained as an athlete, but also as a student to some of the top boxing coaches in the country. Fast-forward to 2019 after 6 years of planning and training hundreds of people, Tramaine decided it was time to share Punches n’ Bunches Boxing Studio. PnB was formed with a vision to create a culture where athletes and coaches from diverse backgrounds could enjoy training and building relationships together. Punches n’ Bunches offers a friendly and safe environment for all individuals and fitness levels. Their classes range from fitness boxing, boxing bootcamp, art of sparring, competitive boxing, youth boxing, women self-defense, yoga, and more.
