New to Nashville – Fall 2017

Nashletics

Nashletics is Nashville’s most diverse functional fitness facility. Located in the Melrose area, Nashletics began as a CrossFit gym and has recently launched new programs catering to those who may love the intensity and camaraderie, but want to lay off the barbells. While CrossFit continues to be a staple at Nashletics, the newest program, Afterburn, features cardio conditioning and high intensity interval training without barbells. The class is programmed for fat loss and designed to elicit the post-exercise calorie burn. Nashletics has also rolled out a Range of Motion class similar to yoga and designed to supplement either the CrossFit or Afterburn program by decreasing the risk of injury and increasing athletic performance. Owner Mark Molinyawe has always had a focus on changing the perception of CrossFit being too hardcore. “The most common reason people shy away from CrossFit is that they’re not in ‘CrossFit’ shape. We’re here to bridge that gap and reduce the intimidation,” says Molinyawe. Finally, Nashletics is also adding a functional lifting program focused on aesthetics. The program, called LGN (Look Good Naked), is partnered with Artistic Muscle and helps tone and build lean muscle.

The CoolSpot Cryotherapy opened in the Summer of 2017 by award winning personal trainer Josh Rogers and his fitness followers Cynthia Arnholt, Perian Strang, and Mary Wilson with a common goal to bring revolutionary muscle and joint recovery options to the Nashville community. All have been avid users and proponents of Whole Body Cryotherapy since 2012. The partners decided to launch their own active recovery center following major market trends around the country. Whole Body Cryotherapy (WBC) has been utilized worldwide since the 1970s to enhance recovery from both joint and muscle pain, and increase health and wellness. Improving on the traditional ice baths, WBC flushes toxins and enriches red blood cells with oxygen, nutrients, and enzymes. Athletic recovery time is shortened, pain and inflammation are reduced, and energy levels are significantly increased. The CoolSpot Cryotherapy features the Cryomed Cryochamber, the first and only UL-compliant unit, as well as the NormaTec pulse recovery system. NormaTec pulse technology improves muscle soreness and circulation by massaging muscles and decreasing lactic acid build up.
